This year the AGM 2018 of IMA Netherlands took place on a very sunny day at the Grand Hotel Karel V in Utrecht.
We were warmly welcomed by the receptionist who kindly instructed us to the meeting room (Graanzolder) for the registration.
It was great to see some known and unknown members and to catch up. Shortly after the registration the AGM was about to start in the Unico van Wassenaer Zaal.
The AGM was opened by Chairman Jannie Oosterhoff. The National Committee has decided to adopt the practice of having a Meeting Chairman to steer the procedure of the AGM, so that the members of the National Committee can fully focus on the content of the meeting and not on the procedures.
Helen Monument was appointed as the Meeting Chairman of this day, Marianne Alfenaar as the minute taker and Yvonne de Mul as the time keeper. Isabelle Wouters acted as the photographer during the AGM.
After the approval of the minutes of the AGM of June 24 2017 Chairman Jannie Oosterhoff informed us about many topics such as the Full Council meeting in Barcelona, international events, the new strategy of IMA Netherlands and the formation of the National Committee which implicated a smaller team to operate with on daily base. In the future the National Committee will communicate more about several subjects and ask for volunteers to participate in special projects or events. Also working groups will be set up.
National events for the future were presented by Deputy Chairman Annemieke van Elst. She also presented the strategy and other information about Corporate Partners.
Strategy and facts and figures about Finance and Membership were presented by Treasurer Ingrid Rampersad.
Tina van Genderen was appointed as the new PRO for IMA Netherlands.
Information over the strategy of Public Relations, website, social media and newsletter were given by PRO Tina van Genderen.
Many members experienced the AGM as constructive and lively and the AGM ended in time.
After the AGM we had a nice lunch in the garden, a small break to take a walk or have a talk with IMA members.
Then the workshop Wake-Up Call started in the afternoon and we returned to the Unico van Wassenaerzaal, where the setting of the room had been changed.
Jan-Henk Bouman and Wim van Rooijen (The Fountainheads) took us to the near future by raising awareness: You snooze or you lose, so get up!
Topics were presented rapidly to showcase the speed of developments which changes our world. After the presentation of Jan-Henk and Wim we had a short break, then we were invited to join the ‘Future Tables’, with 8 participants at each table where statements or questions were discussed vividly. It was very interesting to hear about other members thoughts and their expectations.
We all agreed upon the fact that this was a true wake-up call, not to stick to old patterns but to keep up with new developments.
We thank Jan-Henk and Wim and the National Committee of IMA Netherlands for organizing this great workshop.
The day concluded with drinks and snacks in the Officierstuin.
We are proud to invite you to our next event on Saturday June 30, 2018.

The Wake-Up Call is meant to open people’s eyes, to astound and amaze. The Fountainheads create this awakening experience with a rapid fire of an always up-to-date overview of a variety of trends and movements. Why is innovation so crucial? What are the trends? How should we manage innovation? What are the opportunities for an open source movement, blockchain and AI? What is the future of the sharing economy? And in what way will all of this impact the future of labour? Everyone will receive an enormous boost of inspiration, will experience the dynamics and energy of these speakers and will be left with a gnawing feeling of being happily worried. After the session there will naturally be some space for questions and answers.
Everyday, we make it our job to discover and explore trends that impact both society and entrepreneurship. We translate these insights to new opportunities for entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial people and we are working tirelessly to connect different networks through which we create social innovation. This we manage through both Permanent Beta and the Meetups for VPRO Tegenlicht. All these experiences we use as fuel for our Wake-Up Calls.
